I can think of one use for the shovel.

...okay, one use for the shovel that isn't shovelling things.

...I'm just going to stand over here and think about things over than shovels.

Woo!

*strips* *finds a shovel* *gets the vodka* Muhahahaha!

Oh, come on! One of those things is totally not something I'd do!

Because I never have to find a shovel, I always know where one is.

I wrote 844 on a short story I suddenly have to have done in two weeks. Whee!! Nothing like a deadline to get you moving.

I am SO sleepy today. Not sure what the problem is, but the cats aren't helping. I swear they are encouraging me to nap with them.

2011 is Mac only. I guess they release in different years than the Windows versions.

I do believe we are up to Office 2013, and it is GLORIOUS.

On another note:
Think Geek order, y u know come sooner!

So long as they don't take away my menu bar, I'm okay. Oh, that's for PC. So long as there's still an add-on to give me back my menu bar, I'm okay. :D

Random question to anyone who knows: If I really enjoyed reading War of the Worlds, what are the odds I'm going to really enjoy reading H.G. Wells' other stuff too?

Because I love that book but I don't want to take a plunge and blow some of my preciously little supply of money on his other works only to find out I don't so much love him as an author, I just love that one particular book and don't like all the rest.

Well of your getting the eBooks I managed to get all of his works for free through amazon.

K-

Project Gutenberg also does them for nothing, and I've seen Wells in my local library - in the classics section rather than SFF, so you shouldn't have too much of a problem. If you want free audiobooks then Librivox is your friend.

Morning :Sun:

Today I am mostly making it up.

Deliberately.

I am adding uncertainty to life by not having a plan. Nope. No plan. Honest.

Look, just because you can see a piece of of paper and a pen doesn't mean I'm going to write a list, does it?

Well, I might.

:Coffee:

Now that's a plan.

says you! Actually if you really want a good laugh pick up a biology book!

I have flipped through a couple of simplified ones for Zoe, and... No. I think I am gonna buy her an anatomist book from a vintage bookshop.

I got a request for a full

This calls for a celebration. :partyguy:

There's those 99p copies of classic novels in The Works if reading from a screen is no good. Not sure if they are in other shops, but the formatting looks right (proper, fuzzy printing and all).

Yeah my town isn't a good place to be if you're a writer or avid reader of science fiction or fantasy. We have no bookshops (seriously, we used to have one but nobody went there so it shut down), the only place you can buy new books are F-ing ASDA (and their selection is woeful if you're into anything other than big new releases or non-fiction books about TV shows) and WHSMith (which is better enough that all my book purchases in recent years have come from there, but it's still not the best).

And the local library, in terms of fantasy and sci-fi... there's not too great a selection there either. In the entire building, fantasy and sci-fi take up a couple rows of shelves and that's it.

So yeah, my best option for buying books is either Amazon or WHSmith and WHSmith doesn't carry H.G. Wells. I've checked, he's nowhere to be found. Lots of "classic" authors, no Wells.
