My debut novel, (which came out in June), was shipped around at the various international book fairs in April/May. I was told at the time there was interest, but have heard nothing since.
I know realistically it is very unlikely an international publishing house will choose to pick up my book, but I am curious how this kind of thing works, particularly from authors who've been through the process. Do international publishers generally wait to see how a novel has performed in it's own country before taking it on? Has anyone here had their work picked up by an international publisher, and what did the experience look like?
