I can't speak for what anyone else did in the past but nothing I've said has been trying to get banned.

As a matter of fact when warned by the moderator I did EXACTLY what they asked me to do.

So your claims about me are wrong.

I was offering advice on the fact that IF you became banned, your ploy to work the system would fail because your posts would be buried. However, you seem to misread a lot.

Well I apologize if I misread your words but right now my book, my cover, my site and me as a person have been attacked and I'm fight 5 or 6 different battles all at once and NONE of them have to do with PA.

I may have skimmed your post and I apologize for that.

But I'm not trying to get banned, or change anyone's mind about PA.

I won't even say again what I am trying to do because no one is reading it.

But I won't take personal attacks lying down.

I get the feeling that you believe you're responsible for closing down another forum that featured warnings about scam operations. Well, welcome to the big leagues.

Gena, stop. This is out of hand. No one called your book porn. No one's even read your book.

I am HAPPY to have you here, to have you express your opinions, etc. I am NOT happy to have you "play the system" on a site that I own. I respectfully ask you to stick around and not be so quick to react; you might find that there are a lot of pro writers here who will volunteer to help you learn more about the publishing industry if you'll be open to listening.

When Gena talked about putting the "smackdown" on a vanity press-owned site, I assume she meant Writers Weekly. That's owned by Booklocker, which is a vanity press, though that has no reflection on the writers who post(ed) there.

I am hereby asking *everyone* to put this entire discussion to rest; I'll delete all further posts on this topic. Time to move on.

Question: Has anyone else contacted the IRS about missing royalties, and if so, what kind of reaction did you get?

true - I tell you, when she gets her next book with a legitimate publisher she's going to be rocking da boat all over the place! If she can sell her book to Borders, she's got to be able to sell ice cream to the Inuit and then some!

okay, fair enough.

I did buy 150 of my own books. 1574.00 dollars worth.

I could have self published for less, kept my book rights, and been accepted more readily by the brick and mortars.

So, if you bought your own books, you paid to publish. It's called vanity in reverse. Ask yourself why you would buy so many of your own books. Ask yourself why a traditional publisher would try to sell books to their authors. Ask yourself why they don't stock them in stores, and you have to try to get them stocked yourself.

Why? because they want to sell books to the authors not the readers.
I promise you, in time, you'll see the game.

were you around when they bragged of a partnership with The NYT. A book selling scam. Those authors that bought a thousand books to get on the list, could have paid for their own add. P.A. only wanted to sell books and get an ad to draw more poor authors into their scam.
