I'm struggling greatly with a female-female close friends-only relationship story and I haven't read enough or know how to find an already published work that has a well written female-female close friends-only relationship.
I don't read any general women's fiction and prefer scifi, modern fantasy, post-apocalyptic, action/adventure, and some historical fiction preferable ancient periods. And was wonder if anyone knew of a book in those genre's with that type of character relationship you could recommend?
My characters relationship in the story comes off as either "very stand off-ish" towards each other or crossing beyond the friends-only line. And I don't like either of these options and want to write a believable close relationship without going into sexual territory, even if it's just hinted at.
