I've seen a lot of vbulletin forums that now have the "thanks" button on them. Any plans for that here? I wish I could hit thanks a lot on here.

Just use rep-points. That little icon that looks like a set of scales? Click that and it gives the person a rep-point. You can leave them a message too.

It's what I do.

I like that there are no thanks button and display of thanks, and that the reps don't show. That way the rep is a thing between the repper and the rep'ee

You don't. It's private. You can find out how many you, yourself have in User CP but you won't find out what someone else has unless they tell you.
