Once upon a time there was a little girl. She wrote a story about sponges, prompting a P/T meeting about precocious 5 year olds.
She grew into a teenager who spent every boring lecture and study-hall filling notebooks with astoundingly bad writing ('Ode to a Roadkill Squirrel', anyone?).
She became an adult, and published a few essays in a free local paper. And then she went to college... and found her creative well contaminated by writing papers on issues she didn't care about, arguing positions she didn't agree with.
And then she turned 40. At a crossroads, she pondered the question, "what will be my mark?" And she considered her children, her husband, her home... for all of which she was inordinately proud. And she considered the Kardashians and the ridiculousness of what passed for 'entertainment' and 'politics'. And she remembered the little girl with the sponge story... and knew she had something else to share.
And one day her mother came over, kicked her in the ass, and told her to Stop whining and do something with her talent!
And so I'm here, hobnobbing with the nobs . Love the forum, was co-admin on one that used the identical template, feels an awful lot like coming home...minus pics of chickens . I'm also a stay-at-home, homeschooling mother and wife to a great man.
Insanely excited to meet you all, and to be here. Hoping to pull from your wisdom and your stories.
