I bought two LED light bulbs for the overhead light in my bedroom that's a pain to change bulbs in. ... And my room is VERY BRIGHT OMG. Luckily, there's a dimmer switch...
Check the bulbs to make sure they can be used with a dimmer switch. I had a compact fluorescent bulb in a fixture w/ one, and even though i always kept the light at full, it shorted out, filled my whole house with burning plastic smell, and I ended up having to replace the light and the wiring all the way back to, and including, the wall switch.
I won't have those bulbs in my house now. Hopefully the LEDs are better. I just don't understand why they can't just make regular incandescent bulbs that AREN'T CRAP so they last.
