Recalculating....
Important additional information: are you accepting stories from outside the U.S.? And would we still get paid in dollars?

*is in Britain*

Wait, there's money involved?

*eyes WIPs*

Suddenly these stories don't seem as shiny. . .

. . . crud . . .

Yep - We'll accept stories from out of the country. Payment in American dollars via Paypal, or old-fashioned paper check.

I did think I might be able to scrub up a short I already had...not sure now. Might be too long.

But I did have a question. Um, is there a guidance on rating? Not that I'm going to so an SFF erotic piece or anything, lol,(not this time!) but for violence/gore/naughty words/playing hide the sausage graphicness?

Is there anything we shouldn't put in there? Stick to PG?

Submitted!

I wrote a story about two eyeballs lost and seeking shelter. Poor eyeballs.

Not where you think
How do you guys feel about zombies? I have a short that just sort of happened when I sat at the keyboard last week. It needs shining up, but it could give Bartholomew a little competition in the weirdo category ;)

It's flash fiction. :) That comes fairly quickly.

I am not the editor (I bowed out of that job so I could submit my own piece) and I haven't had a direct conversation with the editor regarding this topic. However, here's my take:

Don't slander anyone, don't libel anyone. Don't violate copyright or trademark. My guess is that if your piece is too off color, the editor may ask for a revision. That's assuming, of course, that the story itself (with or without the off-color bits) is selected for publication. I also guess that if the prime focus of the story is an X-rated theme, it will have less than good chance of being selected.

But otherwise, the sorts of things you can pick up from the Barnes and Nobel bookshelves or buy on Amazon should be just fine.

Yep - what Peter said. If in doubt, just be brave and send it. The worst that can happen is a rejection, right?

We've got several submissions already -- this is looking very promising,

One at a time. If you submit early enough, and receive a rejection prior to the closing date (Sept. 1), you may resubmit.
