Just checking in ... no news from HV for me, but I did sell two short stories this month. That's a win in my world 
I wasn't thinking about BEA, etc., at the time, so I sent a nudge about ten days ago only because I haven't heard anything since the confirmation of receipt email. Haven't heard anything in response to the nudge, which, now that I remember what's going on, is to be expected.

"Looking forward" is a relative term! And everything is better with kittens.
Still trundling along with the short stories. Actually had one accepted the other week, gasp!
Congrats on the sale! That's how I'm biding my time too, lots of short stories. Have one I need to send out tonight in fact.
Hoping for something Wednesday! Friday, at least? Someone asked on the FB page a week ago and they usually reply back to people, but I haven't seen a response on it yet, even though they've updated the page.
Maybe they're trying to make some kind of point...

You didn't include me in your rejection list. Is my heartache not deep enough to be included? I thought it was important for statistical purposes and to give others hope. As each rejection comes in, I know we are sad for each other but I also know that we rub our hands gleefully together and think one more down (insert evil laugh here).

I've been becoming increasingly twitchy about the fact that after my computer and back up crash, HV now hold the last existing final versions of the two manuscripts I submitted to them.
So today I finally got up the nerve to write to them to admit my stupidity and ask if they might be able to send copies to me. I'm at the point now where I don't really care if they now reject me for idiocy, it's no more than I deserve. It's actually more important to me now to have the manuscripts.
Please cross your fingers for me that they understand and send me the copies! I will keep you all up to date with any reply I receive.

This is why I still print out copies, even though they clog up the closet. There are still advantages to doing things old school.
Best case scenario, HV buys one or both of your mss. Then you'll have all the copies you could want.

Crap! This reminds me that I need to update dropbox. I have so much on my computer - partials, marketing bits and bobs, book covers, sales figures... think I'm having a little heart attack at the thought of losing it all!

Thanks!!! HV hadn't sent me anything, so I assume they haven't seen my ms, which is good for me. I prefer they see the revised version I'm working on right now.

The crash was a while ago, but I held off, not wanting to look like a complete fool, when I knew at least one of my stories was under consideration. Now that the process is dragging on so much, I don't want to risk being rejected and having them delete the manuscripts on the spot.
Now everything is on drop box!

The crash was a while ago, but I held off, not wanting to look like a complete fool, when I knew at least one of my stories was under consideration. Now that the process is dragging on so much, I don't want to risk being rejected and having them delete the manuscripts on the spot.

Just checking in to say nothing yet. I was hoping for an update on HV's site today (even just 'we are still working on it') but it's just before 2 pm EST and just a post about Raymond E. Feist. Back to all my uncompleted projects while I wait.
