Although I deleted the private messages after I read them, it still states I have 9 unread messages. Is there a way of making it go to 0? Many thanks for the great help you always give. Thanks much.

Check your sent folder too. But as said above, you're being told you've not read nine messages so they should still be kicking about.
thx much, kee 'n Craig. I did read them and deleted them but they don't go away and it says 9 still. Guess it'll just stay there.

When I click the User CP link above, down the left side is a section called Private Messages. In that section, I see "Edit Folders." Click on that, and I see:
If you don't want to keep *any* messages, you can click on "Empty Folder" for each folder. That should empty you out.
Clear your cache and delete your AW cookies Susie. Then completely shut down your browser.
Then log back and and see.
Then log back and and see.
