A great blue, flying so close that I felt a rush of air as she went by. But I was ready for her:
I'm fairly certain that's quickWit and cray.
Both great shots, but I especially love the first one. It reminds me of the alleged Loch Ness pics.

That is a stunning shot.
I have more bugs to contribute.
One year my boys were pulling weeds (though not for the reasons people normally pull weeds ) and they found this pupa buried in the dirt. It kind of freaked them out because the case was hard like a shell, but when they touched it the end would wiggle.
So we decided to hatch it out and see what it was. We ended up with this very cool little Sphinx Moth.
Another one already?I love this shot SO much! New desktop pic!
Thank you. That is a stunning shot.
Those are great. I really like how the ruler shows the size perspective in those images.I have more bugs to contribute.
I did get closer to him today and will post a picture of the encounter soon...Cool, cool, and all very cool. Loved the Haggisauris. Geez, couldn't you've gotten a closer pic, SK?
I could have taken a couple of steps and mounted him, but the thought didn't occur to me at the time:Are you riding on his back?!

Close enough that if Katho ever visits, she'll learn a lesson or two about the true meaning of mounted. How far do you live from this massive critter?
Hmm. I am really struggling to keep my mouth shut about this.

I'm not sure how to decipher this.
Yes, please do! The quality of the pics doesn't matter at all and is secondary to sharing your appreciation of nature with us. I'd love to see what stirs out there in your area.Definitely post something, KLM, even if it's shaky.
