I am a new writer as well, and like most was searching through Google days and nights to find publishers to work with my new book. Well, I very well see what you mean, but now I have a question... where to look for publishers that will not scam you? Please, advice me since I know little about this industry.
I'm gonna contact a mod about your question getting separated from this post ad into its own thread or moved to a related thread. Don't want it to get buried without giving you the best answers possible, and people might not be checking an old thread.
Your local bookstore is the best place to research publishers. Go find books similar to what you write, and check who published it. If it's in a store, on the shelf, then you know you've got a publisher who can get you there too. Most scam publishers won't.
You can also look up your genre's writer's association (RWA, SFWA, MWA). They may have a list of publishers.
And, of course, right here in BRBC. Give the
Index a look.
