'Fraid I dunno that song, ma'am - but here's one I DO KNOW!!!

Oh! I know a song that'll get on ya nerves, get on ya nerves, get on your nerves!
I know a song that'll get on ya nerves, get on ya nerves, get on your nerves!
And the next verse goes like this:

Oh! I know a song that'll get on ya nerves, get on ya nerves, get on your nerves!
I know a song that'll get on ya nerves, get on ya nerves, get on your nerves!
And the next verse goes like this:

Oh! I know a song that'll get on ya nerves, get on ya nerves, get on your nerves!

Perhaps bannination from the Bouncy Castle is too harsh. We'll let you stay, Dave. But you are henceforth known as the Queen's Royal Pester. :D

Huzzah! But, I was just obeying the Royal Orders to the best of my abilities, so I was!

D

ETA: Just noticed you've actually changed my avatar and title. Well played. Well played, indeed...

Ahoy! We are pleased to be home. We have a headache from arborists trimming trees outside the classroom all day. We are ready for our three day weekend.

Let's see, update on the week...

Survived Valentine's Day with only one temper tantrum. Little Sophie got bumped on the head at the end of the day, so after sobbing for a minute or two she threw down her bag of cards and candy, stomped on it and declared that she never wanted another Valentine's Day ever again. But I rescued the bag, the Ring Pop survived, and all was well a few minutes later.

Up at the Junior High, two boys were arrested for selling pornographic pictures a bunch of girls had taken of themselves. So if anyone wants to know just how stupid modern teenagers can be, there you go. Of course the school is pretending the whole thing never happened...

3 friends finally came through and I now have my letters of rec. This weekend I must write my cover letter, and I'll mail the application out on Tuesday. So next week I have to man up and tell the principal I've applied and that I'm asking for a transfer if that job doesn't pan out. I'll be diplomatic and not mention that she's the main reason I want to leave...

Also the new computer means I can actually get all the photo stuff to work, hence the new avatar. My dog when she was only 8 weeks old... before she got fluffy.

A belated bow to the Queen. Long live the queen!

And a belated welcome to the bouncy castle, AC Thomas. Good luck on the writing weekend, heza, sorry about the vacation snafu. David - love the new avatar! Ha ha. Judy, yay on the letters coming through. Good luck!

Hmm, seems like everyone has a new avatar. I think I will change mine, too. But if my son happens to see this on my page, he will kill me.

If my son had a pic like that, he would never, ever, ever forgive me.

Judy, Best of luck with the job hunt. And I love your doggie! We've decided to hold off on a new pup until our lives have some semblance of order--I guess that means when the girls go off to college.

I know some of the kidlit gang are teachers. Anyone specialize in Special Education? I've written a little dysgraphia awareness section (700 words) and I thought someone here might be able to review it for me.

If not I can post in the experts wanted forum, but I thought I'd check here first.

Good luck Judy!

So much going on here that it's hard to catch a breath. Spent today at a public speaking competition. My 8yo cracked me up. After a kid did an incredibly impressive recitation of a speech by Thomas Jefferson, my son leaned over to me and in a very loud whisper, said, "Mummy, I wanna enter this next year. But I'm going to read something really good. I'm going to read Captain Underpants."

I could see everyone around us trying not to laugh out loud. It made my day. :)

Well, phooey, I missed Sheila's avatar, but I like the one she has now. Judy - what an adorable puppy.

I decided to change mine just because everyone else was. But I take really sucky pictures, so I didn't have much to choose from.

This guy was hanging out in my backyard the other morning, so I grabbed my camera.

Bouncing again tonight. I just saw that I am down to the last 25 entries in Pitch+250 with DorkBoy. Next, they narrow it down to ten.

I've been so engrossed with my new middle grade, Isaac Newton and the Pink Tutu, that I haven't been checking email obsessively for agents getting back to me about DorkBoy.

So far, I'm loving 2013! My picture books will be released in less than two weeks, and other things just seem to be coming together. I just wish there were more hours in the day to write. And read. :)

Just sent my first full off to an agent! Now that THAT weight is lifted from my mind, I can finally focus on my beta-work (including DORKBOY! Woohoo!)

Half-bouncy news: I referee for a professional wrestling company in my free time, and yesterday was their first show of '13. I took a 'bump' (wrestling-term for a hit, attack, or a move being used on you) that involved a sideways body-slam followed up by a top-rope elbow drop at the same time (they were a 'heel'/villain tag team). My previous back injury (the reason why I just refereeing and don't wrestle) took it hard, winding me and setting my back on fire.

I got home, took painkillers and slept it off. This afternoon it was back to a manageable dull throbbing.... then I tried to get out of bed and oh, lord, the pain in my chest! Turns out I took the bump harder than I thought (if that's even possible), and now whenever I turn or bend my body too sharply (even getting out of bed, for example), or sneeze, cough or burp, something by my ribs under my left chest crunches, 'pops' and rolls :(

I can't see my doctor until Wednesday, and a visit to A&E went like this:I was told it was going to hurt for THREE WEEKS, and that I should keep taking painkillers to take the edge off, but otherwise sit it out. That was after a two hour waiting period. So yeah, not happy about that.

But again, that just gives me more time to read through the beta stuff! :D

Wait, what's Isaac Newton and the Pink Tutu? There's a green tutu in my latest manuscript and it's in the title too! Darn you Isaac Newton, whomever you are!

And David, I hope you feel better--just remember, no reading betas while loaded up on painkillers ;-)

Oh, how fun! I think there's plenty of room for tutus in titles. :)

David, don't worry about reading DorkBoy if you're in pain! That sounds awful, hope you recover quickly.

Congrats on getting your submission done. It's always a relief!
