First attempt at writing...

Hey everyone! When I say I'm new, I mean I'm really new. I've only been writing a little less than a month. I got started on a whim, and have been obsessed since. It's all I think about, so I've definitely been bitten by the writing bug.

Everyone starts somewhere. At one time or another, all of us here had 'only' been writing for a month. Stick with it, and welcome!

Welcome! I'm fairly new here too and believe me it's one of the best things that ever happened to me as a writer.

Fair warning: it only gets harder. It's not always fun. Eventually your work will break your freaking soul, but don't let that hinder you. Keep writing, sally forth and don't give up, and you'll do just fine.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I really appreciate it. I've had friends read the 8 chapters I've written so far and they are all very encouraging, but it's hard to trust what they say. Most people don't want to hurt your feelings. Which is nice, of course, unless you are wanting brutal honesty. Thanks again everyone!

Well IMC78. Let's hope you can keep up the obession. Becuse writing is a blast. If you've got any kind of imagination at all, you can go a long way. Guidance in the right direction doesn't hurt either, and I fully believe you can get some of that here.

Welcome!
Writing is a love/hate relationship for me, but in the end, I find myself going right back to it, trapped in it's snare. Enjoy all of the emotions it brings you. Get stubborn with your work, for it helps you become the best you. Stay confident and don't ever give up on your new found talent! Good luck, babe.

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Week thread at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Welcome. Only writing a month and you have 8 chapters in something...that's really cranking it out for a newbie!
