The Supreme Court denied a stay of a lower court ruling overturning South Carolina's gay marriage ban.

Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas said they would have granted the ban.

I'm wondering if this is a sign the Supreme Court is actually very likely to rule in favor of marriage equality when it finally takes up the matter. That maybe only Scalia and Thomas will vote against in the end.

In terms of voting against, I see four votes at the absolute most. Given what Kennedy wrote not very long ago in Windsor, I don't think he would join the conservatives on this issue.
