Sure, in theory it's a great idea to have a realistically-proportioned doll. Remember Happy To Be Me? (Probably not.)

^^^ She looks great. I think I would have liked these dolls better as a kid, because they look more like people. Barbie did always stand out as looking silly, I thought. I never put my finger on why as a kid, but I did use my more realistic dolls as the 'real' characters. Barbie always felt cartoonish.

Ken did, too, somehow. I always substituted GI Joe and grumbled about how his size was off compared to my female dolls. He also had much better accessories, naturally!
