Hi AWers!

My name is Tanbir, and I have been writing fiction for about a year now. My first novel is based on my father, Ram, who was killed back in my homeland, Lebanon, 15 years ago.

I moved to Great Britain soon after my father's death, which is now my home, and I became a teacher of history. But now I have started writing fiction, it's all I want to do on a full time basis.

So I found this website, felt amazed by the sheer scope and wealth of information on it, and astonished by the amount of people here with similar ambitions.

I hope I can contribute to this amazing community and learn a lot from you!

I think it's admirable that you turned the tragedy of your father's death into something you can share with the world. That is the gift of writing. I'm sure many of us here write for similar reasons. I do too.

I've been all over the Middle East, though never made it to Lebanon, but all the Lebanese people I've met have been wonderful.

I second how great that you're able to write about the tragic loss of your father. I'm sorry for your loss.
