The first five for 2014, though the first one was started just before Christmas.

1. The Little Friend by Donna Tartt (novel)
2. The Kiss by Kathryn Harrison (non-fiction)
3. Darkness, Be My Friend by John Marsden (YA novel)
4. Entangled by Cat Clarke (YA novel)
5. Chasing the King of Hearts by Hanna Krall, translated from Polish by Philip Boehm (novel*)

*The publisher calls this a novella but as I make it about 50000 words I'm calling it a novel, though a short one.

3. Chosen By A Horse, Susan Richards ****
4. The Time It Takes To Fall, Margaret Lazarus Dean *****

I only got to 68 books last year, but as it's more than I've read since I went to university I'm actually pretty okay with that.
This year, I'm going to shoot for 75.

4. Good Omens, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman (reread, audiobook, Jan 13th -Feb 1st)

I haven't seen this thread before, but I'll give it a try. I have no goal, just seeing how many books I actually read in a year! And I'll give 1-5 star ratings for the fun of it.

To start with:

1.THE SCORPIO RACES by Maggie Stiefvater *****
2. QUARANTINE: THE LONERS by Lex Thomas **
3. CINDER by Marissa Meyer *****
4. UNWIND by Neal Shusterman ***
5. THE TESTING by Joelle Charbonneau ***
6. SLATED by Teri Terry ****
7. FRACTURED by Teri Terry ***

Same. I said I would do it and here I am.
To start off with I have Percy Jackson, Hunger Games, Jellicoe Road, Little Brother and Fight Club but the Olympics are on so I'll start after the closing ceremonies. Hope to talk to you all later.

I only managed 8 in February - partly because it was a short month but mainly because I lost 2 days of reading time thanks to the Tube strike (not really complaining as I got to work from home - easiest commute ever).

13. Martyn Pig by Kevin Brooks.

14. Regeneration by Pat Barker.

15. The Eye In The Door by Pat Barker.

16. The Ghost Road by Pat Barker.

17. Banished by Liz De Jager.

18. Fated by Benedict Jacka.

19. Department 19 by Will Hill.

20. My Big Fat Zombie Goldfish – Fins Of Fury by Mo O’Hara.

Reviews can be found on http://quippe.livejournal.com/ if anyone's interested.

I've been reading really long books this month so my total for March may be a little lower than I was hoping but I'm still on course for 100 this year and hoping to hit my 150 target.

8. Stardust: The Ruby Castle Stories by Nina Allan (short-fiction collection/story cycle)
9. Burning for Revenge by John Marsden (YA novel)
10. The Accursed by Joyce Carol Oates (novel)

My challenge is to read 100 books by the end of 2014

So far i have read

1. Breathe by Sara Crossan(Dystopian...Not that great)
2. Never Fade(Darkest Minds #2) by Alexandra Bracken(Pretty good read...Dystopian/Sci-fi)

3. Alliance(Paladin Prophecy book 2) by Mark Frost(Sci-fi...it was good...though Book 1 was better)

4. Erased(Altered #2) by Jennifer Rush(Sci-fi/Paranormal...Highly disappointed)

5. Fracture me(Shatter me Novella Book 2.5) by Tahereh Mafi(Dystopian/Paranormal....Decent)

6. Steeleheart by Brandon Sanderson(Superhero Dystopian/Scifi....I was not impressed though I am curious to give book 2 another try)

7. Secret(Elemental #4) by Brigid Kemmerer(Paranormal/Sci-fi.....I ABSOLUTELY LOVED)

8. Ignite Me(Shatter me #3) by Tahereh Mafi(Dystopian/Paranormal....Eh, it was okay.)

9. The Sowing(The torchkeeper #2) by Steven Dos Santos(Dystopian/Scifi....THE BEST BOOK I'VE READ so far in 2014 and highly recommended)

10. The Unwanteds(Book 1)....It's more like a Upper MG/Lower Ya(Dystopian/Scifi...It was a good read)

11. The Unwanteds(Book 2)....It was pretty good as well

12. The Unwanteds(Book 3)...While the plot/mythology moved along, I was a bit disappointed and I am looking for redemption in Book 4.

13. Poison Princess by Kressley Cole....I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It's an Upper YA/Lower NA type of book. I enjoyed it, despite a few small annoyances and will read the sequel.

14. Darkbound(The Legacy of Moonset)....(Paranormal/Urban Fantasy...I LOVED IT)

23. Shattered by Teri Terry.

24. Gingerbread by Robert Dinsdale.

25. Hello Darkness by Anthony McGowan.

Definitely count beta reads. But I only count them once (I usually go through twice)

Yeah, I read them twice too, but I figured only count them once. :) Since I take my personal reading time to beta read I was hoping I could count them!

I managed 13 in April courtesy of the transport system, which resulted in ridiculously longer commutes. Only 4 of them were YA because I'm a bit jaded on the YA front so am trying to re-energise myself with 'grown up' books.

32. Mockingbird by Chuck Wendig.

33. More Than This by Patrick Ness.

34. Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick.

35. The Glass Republic by Tom Pollock.

36. The Lost City of Z by David Grann.

37. Rumpole and the Penge Bungalow Murders by John Mortimer.

38. A Lovely Way To Burn by Louise Welsh.

39. Buffalo Soldier by Tanya Landman.

40. The Distance by Helen Giltrow.

41. The Axeman’s Jazz by Ray Celestin.

42. The Boy With The Porcelain Blade by Den Patrick.

43. The Last Refuge by Craig Robertson.

44. The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith.
