My favorite board game is RISK. We have the Lord of the Rings editions, although lately we've been playing a lot of card games--rummy, hearts, and even poker with the boys.

So my reign is nearly over. Time for another party. We need CAKE!

As a (much) younger family, the four of us would sometimes play Hearts after supper. My daughter was smart and attentive. I sat across from her at the table. At one point in the play of a hand, she knew damn well what I held could take the trick from her prior play. I held the winning card in my hand. She put on her sad-but-cute face and said, "But Daddy, I'm special!" We all had a good laugh. I put that card back in my hand and laid down a useless play.

My favorite board game is also Risk, your Majesty. I was going to say that yesterday, but my magic portal stopped working.

I play Hearts on the computer. I am about to play Backgammon with my sister-in-law because I beat her 5 times yesterday and she wants revenge.

Hey everyone! This was a hellacious week, but I bring smiling cake

Back from the salt mines - the weather has been great and much needed done.

Sorry I missed most of your reign, oh Queen, but gotta make hay - so to speak - in my business while the sun shines, and there's less of that these days I've noticed.

Favorite games - Backgammon (love it), Scrabble, and Risk.

It's a gorgeous day here, but since I've been out in them all week I suppose domestic chores are on the menu.

I love Monopoly. Don't think I've ever played a full game. We also used to play a whole lot of Trivial Pursuit and Uno. I hate Uno. I enjoy playing it but I still hate it. I never ever win.

We keep hoping for rain as well, Princess Bettielee. Nothing. *sigh*

After spending most of the morning watching TV, I did some plotting on my WIP. For a while I was struggling to get the story moving, but after a bit of a breakthrough, I now have much better idea on what direction to go. That's always a good feeling.

I do apologize to my dear subjects for not peeking in yesterday. Things got busy.

However I do want to introduce your new queen, tjwriter. May she reign long and happily.

You also have a stipend to keep you in the manner to which you have become accustomed while on the throne. Of course, any gifts received while monarch are yours to keep.

Good morning, one and all. Thank you for the gracious welcome. I admit I have not visited this area of the kingdom in quite some time. What does one do around here these days?

I spent yesterday afternoon getting a root canal, so that took most of my afternoon and evening.

May the new queen serve cookies and ice cream 24/7.

I don't recommend trying Prince Porter's smoothies...
