So, this self-publishing service has started advertising on a Facebook thread.

Their cheapest "self-publishing package" is 299 GBP, but they DO offer a video marketing package for the low low cost of 99 GBP.

So, paying someone else who calls themselves the Publisher in their Publishing agreement seems to me to defeat the point of self-publishing.

I'm not seeing a scam here so much as an unnecessary service.

Vanity press is a vanity press selling themselves as "self-publishing" publisher... selling packages like a vanity press.

Nothing new here. The same wisdom to pass down: Vanity presses aren't very good at all, and if you're looking for services as a author wishing to self-publish you're better off arranging freelance editors, artists, and advertising specialist that have a strong reputation than a group of random people.

Plus it's always a good idea to stick with the older, bigger, better-established services that have a researchable track record and offer you some accountability.
