Word Count Thread - NaNo 2014

Total for today: 44,647.

I wrapped up the storyline of one of my two MCs. Still need an ending for the book (I know in broad terms how it ends, but I haven't quite figured out the details). And there's a subplot that I dropped a while back that I need to go back and weave in, but that'll be easier now that the main story is coming together.

Well, I set myself a NaNo target of finishing the WIP, which I estimated to be about another 30k. I got up to 20k by mid month, but then I had the weekend off to stay with friends, and wasted a few days of the following week trying to get back into it. Then last friday, just I was knucking down again... bunny got very poorly. Diagnosed with kidney failure and spine abnormalities, meaning I've been up all night feeding and injecting him with fluids, then sleeping during the day while he's at the vets on a drip. That pretty much ended my NaNo, so I'm calling it a day at 20,421.

I don't think it's a failure, as it's made a massive leap towards finishing. There are about 5 chapters left, which I hope to finish by Christmas to give my agent a nice Christmas present

And I hope my bunny is there to celebrate with me.

Today is the day!

First day I didn't reach my MINIMUM of 1667 words a day.... but I broke 50k!!!!

I never, ever, in a million years thought I'd do it. Just goes to show...

Been busy with holidays so haven't written much in the last couple days. Wrote absolute crap today. I'm delaying the inevitable next part of the story that I don't want to write. That and my brain feels like pudding. Bleh.

I spent my writing time snow shovelling instead

But on the plus side, I should be able to get out of the house tomorrow without trudging through a snow drift.

Ending at 47,426 today.

72,926 as of last night. I didn't get a breakfast time writing session this morning, had to sleep in a bit (thanks insomnia!) But I'll do a session tonight and tomorrow I should reach The End. This will be my 3rd highest NaNoWriMo word count - only 77k and 114k years are higher. I could get to 77k if I kept going, but there's only about 3 k more story and anyway, I have big plans to sleep on Sunday. Then again, I think I skipped or truncated a couple of scenes I could go and add. (somebody stop me!)

Clocking out at 47,017 with 3,604 written today. Tomorrow's a bonding day with the best friend, but I should finish on Saturday if all goes to plan.

Ok, uhm, I have 6 hours and in those 6 hours I will add 20K to my wordcount. Good bye to myself.

What do I always always always need the pressure?

Had bestie bonding day and came back to finish off NaNo. The first draft isn't quite (even close to) done yet, but I'm loving what I've written again. The bones of a decent-to-great story are there. I can't believe I pulled it off for the second year in a row. *snoopy dance*

Today's word count was 6,609 to get me to 50,022. Forgot to mention that.

46,822 words.

I'm going to keep going for a little while, and then bed, and then writing group tomorrow. I know 50k won't finish this story; we'll see how far I can take it by Sunday night (and then see if I write to The End or not).

74,929, on course to becoming my highest NaNo word count. All I need to do is about 2200 words each Saturday and Sunday, and I'll do it.

I wrote 2,220 words today, and brought my word count over 70k.
