Evening Purgies!
The weekend is over - back to work, sorta. I've got a "Transition" seminar this week. Hmmm, that sounds more like I'm "crossing over" than looking for a new job. I take it they're gonna teach me a few things - I'm most nervous about the job interview process - I've only had one interview and that was in 1984, and it went so-so. The standard interview was with 2 guys, and they set up another one for a third opinion. I guess I got the 2-1 thumbs up. I hear they ask all sorts of wacky things now like - "Give me some examples of how you dealt with a poor performer at work." I'm not sure the military tactics will translate well. Let's see - "You don't go home until it's finished, even if it takes you all week." I guess I'll have to learn more subtle skills for the post-military job experience.
(((Mrs. B and little B's))) What a week! I hope this week is much better!
(((NIYRAK and Little Man))) That was scary! I'm glad they got a handle on it and he's getting better!
(((Little))) for the allergies
(((Shveta))) Query and Conquer!
(((Fury))) Hang in there. They'll break up eventually. (Hmmm, I just had a few evil thoughts about how you could speed that along...)
WD - Weeee! for the mad squeeing, and have fun on the road trip!
Lily - Yay! for the new laptop. (Boo for remaining on the Dark Side.)
Snappy - Vamp Dust for your R&R!
Fruit - I'm glad your hens are laying and you love your WIP!
Becky - awesome cakes! So at the next meetup, you're bringing dessert, right?
Kiahanna - Yay! for getting through the difficult WIP scene.
Dys - WOOT for managing to be productive!
WOOHOO! for being able to hit Lela up!
Rick... I feel you though obviously not in the same position.
Hmmm. How about right "here". (Sorry - we're prone to "pork chops" in this thread.)
I do get my special birthday party next weekend though.
Thunder D0wn Under? (Lynne knows a few of the boys in Vegas...)
One of the major characters I created snuffs it. And I liked that character. So my brain kept trying to make me write situations in which the character didn't actually really die..honestly it was like a soap opera scene inside my head.
When I was writing Book 0, I had a character that kept living through the chapters he was supposed to die. I used fairly detailed outlines, so when he lived through the designated chapter, I planned his demise in the next, and he lived through that one too. The third time was the charm, though. Same with Haupe in Book 2. Her character lived much longer than planned, almost to the end. As I've said before, she's a tough son-of-a-bitch!
23? Yes, that would be great!
