So I'm writing an article and want to identify books that feature psychopaths, but with a couple of provisos.

First, the book must be recent, say the last two years.

Second, I'm not looking for books where the psychopath is your typical murdering, blood-thirsty bad guy. I'm thinking of something more nuanced, like GONE GIRL or this year's NORMAL, by Graeme Cameron. A book where the psychopath is the protagonist, or features in a way that dominates the story in ways other than as purely the bad guy.

Any thoughts?

My protagonist rates pretty high on the Hare Psychopathy Checklist. But the stories don't focus on that, nor do I consider him a bad guy. Certainly not blood-thirsty.

Have you read The Talented Mr. Ripley? The protagonist is clearly a psychopath, but he is oh so likeable. Sort of.
