I'm going to be tooling around London with a friend Sunday through when I check into the hotel on Wednesday...but there's nothing that says I can't do the eye Wednesday. He might even want to tag along (he's a writer, just not on AW).

I had offered to volunteer on Wednesday for set-up but none of my numerous e-mails or filling in forms have resulted in any reply. I guess they have all the help they need, so I may be free, though we may decide to go to Eltham Palace that day.

ETA They are now in touch!

Is anyone attending Detcon1 in Detroit? I'm popping in for Friday afternoon/evening.

Peace
Ty

Hey, Worldcon in London is getting closer! I note that apparently one is advised to purchase tickets to the London Eye in advance, for a set day/time. Do we want to coordinate an AWer London Eye excursion?

Sooo are we going for this?

I'd like to! Um, I think Zanz may be in transit at the moment... She said something about arriving Tuesday.

Only really settled in now, but around. Checking twitter and AW regularly, but phoneless. So it's sort of like an AWer scavenger hunt!

As a bonus, anyone who finds me can have a shiny pretty AW ribbon for their badge.

We'll need a clue then!

My clue: I have stolen Tank Girl's t shirt for the day

Also will probably be lurking around at the popup pirate readings at the bandstand, at least for a bit.

Here's hoping the next hotel has as good wifi as this one!

I have unnaturally red highlights and short hair. I'm also wearing a pink t-shirt with coffee mug on it.

And I have an AW ribbon, as I found zanz last night!

Now, off to breakfast...

I am in green today. Heading towards convention center now, with first stop being lunch.

My sister and I are. I'm very much looking forward to it (and trying to figure out which GGK book to bring with me in case I get a chance for an autograph)

No WFC for me, although I expect to be at Arisia in Boston in January, and Worldcon in Spokane next August.

Hi all! Any AWers coming to FOGcon in the SF Bay Area? March 6-8, 2015. It's a lovely little con (about 250-300 people, laid back and literary).

Here's the link: http://fogcon.org/

Hey, so who is heading to Worldcon in Spokane in August? I plan on spending some time bopping around Seattle first, would love to meet up with people either there or at the con. I'll have AW ribbons again, too :)

So far I'm not on programming. I volunteered, but no word back yet.

My wife and I were going to upgrade our supporting memberships to attending, however circumstances have made that undesirable. The art director we were going to meet, the price of memberships, and complications from our approaching retirement have put this years convention out of reach.

I already had leave blocked out, it will get used in looking at our retirement location, it seems hard and fast decisions must be made before the end of the year....

Anyone planning on doing Readercon this weekend? I'm going in for Saturday and trying to decide if I should bring some AW ribbons...

As a note, for anyone who was lucky enough to have missed my various diatribes on the subject elseweb, I will not be attenting Worldcon this year after all. Despite being out a lot of money as a result, at least for me it was time to cut my losses. I'm very sad about missing out on all the great people I was hoping to see and catch up with, but there will be other cons and other opportunities. Those of you still going: raise a glass for me, eh?

(ETA: this does mean I'll have some memberships for sale for way below current prices, assuming they're transferrable...)

I'll raise a glass with you. Spokane was just not in the financial cards this year. Which sucks, because it looks like it will be a fun circus. I'm sure Agent have wanted me to attend, to meet an editor or two - but I have to stay home this round.
