I suggest an international cook-in. You can all make some local dishes. I'll make some English desserts. Hubby will make Pakistani food. We can have a feast :D

I have some Cantinaite books lined up to read this month, but I'm also on beta-ing duties for a 120k novel that's going to a publisher in a couple of months. So I have to do that first.

I'll make some English desserts.

You mean there are such things?

I always assumed English cooking was an oxymoron.

:D

Just teasing. I like English food. Like.... no, wait, that's Irish. Well then how about.... no, wait, Welsh. Um.... Maybe there's .....

Can I get back to you on that?

No fancy food for me tonight. We're having the classic Hillbilly Feast. You guys would probably hate it, but it's the flavors of my childhood, and I adore it.

And best of all, my husband cooked!

Just saw this. This kind of thing is why I rarely leave the Cantina. :( Pakistani's aren't evil, and they have like *the best* food ever. I challenge anyone to eat nihari and seekh kebab and naan and still say Pakistani's are evil.

*judges all people by their food*

That's a pretty good test! I haven't found a cuisine yet that I didn't like. Even borscht has its good points!

Also, mmmm, naan.... *gurgle*

So,.... the woods are 'possum free tonight?

:D

And hate it? Pfft. Good food is good food, period. Regardless of whether it's cuisine or just grub.

No, the 'possums are safe; nasty land carp! However, my back field has been picked clean of burdock and ramps!

Try pinto bean soup, cooked with bacon (not ham! Too salty), potatoes fried with burdock and ramps, brine onions, buttermilk cornbread with cracklings....

sigh. Life is good.

Also, I have snow again. About which I am excited. :hooray:

Less excited about the fact that it's coming in horizontally.

Psycho, I'm totally there. Also, if there's butter chicken you may never get me to leave. Just fair warning.

Sorry, I missed this.
Go Tiff!

Thanks! :D

This sounds fabulous. What's local to the US? Hamburgers? lol

Being from the southwest, I can mainly make bastardized versions of Mexican cuisine.

Also, I just finished it and :Trophy:

:)

Awww thank you!!! :D

I made orange-cranberry bread this morning.

That was the extent of my cooking for the day.

:D

I made oatmeal. But it was the 5 minute kind, not the 1 minute variety, so it totally counts as cooking.

Also, hand over the bread and no one gets hurt.
