Congrats, all!

Aaand - a sale to Flagship! "Hither and Yon," 2500 words that manage to work in I Love Lucy, the Honeymooners, Star Trek, the Bermuda Triangle, three separate timelines of alternative history, rain, and shopping for shoes. No wonder it took me a year to sell it.

Whee!

Now to hear from my darling crickets, some of whom are probably reading this now... :)

@Aggy: Awesome, congratulations! Depending on when Bruce runs our stories, we may be TOC mates twice in the next month!

@Anatoly: Awesome! I remember reading that story and it is indeed a strange one. Glad it found a good home.

Congrats, Aggy! I thought I recognized your name on Duotrope today.

I just noticed this thread. I don't think it's too late to toot my own horn. I'll be appearing in the debut issue of Goldfish Grimm's Spicy Fiction Sushi, on March 1st.

Congratulations Adam, Aggy, and Anatoly.

Hmm... Maybe I need to change my name to something that starts with an "A." ;)

Hmm the "A" strategy certainly works for me ;)

Now all I need is a time machine and to convince my parents back in the 1970s that Michael was waaaaay too common of a name and they should really pick something like Arnold... ;)

Of course, then I would have spent the second half of the '80s constantly being asked if I would "be back."

My first acceptance!!! Innsmouth Free Press wants to purchase my story "Notrees"! With the story's word count, it comes in at just under semi-pro pay, but at least it's a paying market and a really cool magazine!

So now it's 12 rejections, 1 acceptance. That feels good to type out. :D

Special thanks to defcon6000 for beta-reading the story.

Hooray, O'Dandelo! First sales are the very best! Nothing says you're doing the right thing with your time like making a sale!
