I really like writing (never had anything major published though) and I'm also really into palaeoanthropology and the palaeolithic era (middle palaeolithic in particular). I've written quite a few genres, but these days I'm writing prehistoric fiction and currently working on a novella set 100,000 years ago.

I have a blog and I like doing lots of different kinds of writing. I've done some freelance writing (not much though) but I like writing fiction best. I'm planning to get some of what I write out there. I joined this site because a friend on another site recommended it as somewhere that has lots of good information. Plus it would be good to connect with other writers. Nice to meet everyone :hi:

Welcome.

I see you've tried flintknapping. I've wanted to try that. I used to find a lot of Native American/Indian arrowheads where I grew up. Someone could almost always find one in a large, newly plowed field.

Thanks :) It's fun, if you can find reasonably good quality flint you can have a go. There are quite a few videos about it on you tube.

I used to have a friend who did it. There are flintknapping groups here as well as suppliers of flint. I think some of the best flint in my area is found along the Buffalo River in Tennessee.

where I live (SE England) there's a lot of flint. There are a few archaeological sites round here, including some that have found tools and remains of neanderthals and Homo heidelbergensis - it's been a good area for flint for hundreds of thousands of years :)
