new member saying hi

I really like writing (never had anything major published though) and I'm also really into palaeoanthropology and the palaeolithic era (middle palaeolithic in particular). I've written quite a few genres, but these days I'm writing prehistoric fiction and currently working on a novella set 100,000 years ago.

I have a blog and I like doing lots of different kinds of writing. I've done some freelance writing (not much though) but I like writing fiction best. I'm planning to get some of what I write out there. I joined this site because a friend on another site recommended it as somewhere that has lots of good information. Plus it would be good to connect with other writers. Nice to meet everyone

Thanks It's fun, if you can find reasonably good quality flint you can have a go. There are quite a few videos about it on you tube.

I used to have a friend who did it. There are flintknapping groups here as well as suppliers of flint. I think some of the best flint in my area is found along the Buffalo River in Tennessee.

where I live (SE England) there's a lot of flint. There are a few archaeological sites round here, including some that have found tools and remains of neanderthals and Homo heidelbergensis - it's been a good area for flint for hundreds of thousands of years
