Feeling confident that I got that right, I'll proceed: :D

Failure to attain an intended goal can be equated with a distance which is expressed differently in different parts of the world but is generally understood to mean a long walk.

Right, iLion. It's what I tell myself every time a manuscript is rejected. ;)

Your turn.

Well, since iLion seems to be asleep at the wheel :poke:, I will post another verbosity:

Finality, in a given situation, cannot be accurately ascertained in advance of the time when a clear termination of the pertinent event has been established.

Once a massive electrostatic discharge between the electrically charged regions between a cloud and the surface of a Earth happens, that very same occurrence will at no time happen again.

Once I caught a shark from the lake and it had swollen eyes. Not bothering about it, I put it in the aquarium and within two days every fish had swollen eyes and they all died.

I think I'm way off on this one, but:

Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

Or did Shakey have it right?

May I suggest that we play this as a friendly game and not "stump everyone else". There are enough puzzle threads here already IMO.

Sorry for not getting back to this. The answer was "FTW" or "For the Win."

I think JT missed the part where we all agreed not to kill the thread by posting unsolvable riddles.

So, I will perform some CPR and hopefully revive the thread.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Mine was very simple, one ill fish spoils the pond.

Not an expression I'd ever heard (and from the looks of things most people around here were in the same boat). Also, you added a bunch of information, instead of merely obfuscating through complex wording while saying exactly the same thing. Anyhoo... you are correct, your turn.

Yep, you win and the grand prize is an opportunity to move the levers of your brain, ignite those grey cells, let the wildest beasts within the darkest caves of your head go free and post the next riddle...

So that one tanked. How about:

Minimal proximity between root and spawn is guaranteed.

What is the answer to the first one?

I was thinking something like Birds of a feather flock together, or something about bees.

For second one, the apple doesn't fall far away from the tree?
