Hi,

I'm looking for a beta reader for my bipolar memoir (14,000 words). It is somewhat sordid, and I hope amusing in places.

I spent a long time writing it, but I feel it comes up short.

Another set of eyes would be greatly appreciated.

Easy there, partner. There is nothing wrong with requesting a beta read, but you are going to get more requests if you participate in the community, make friends, etc.

You can also post your work in the SYW section and comment on the works of others. If people see you make an effort, they are more likely to scratch your back.
