Gorillas also flourish with the addition of cats.

Not so sure how well the cat's going to do, though.

Not enough poetry in the thread.

On velvet paws he roams the island town.
The ginger laird of streets and shops and homes
Patrols his small dominion, climbing down
From pointed roofs to where the water foams
Behind the Cal Mac ferries as they sail.
He needs no louder herald than his purr,
Nor any standard but his upright tail;
For crown his golden ears; for robes, his fur.
But something is amiss among his pets --
They snarl and give each other dirty looks.
This foolish hairless village! It forgets
That living cats outshine those useless books.
He leaves them to their silly human spat
And prowls on: the Tobermory Cat.

Brillig in the slithy toves...
Out of curiosity, and because of the Saki mention, I typed "Tobermory Cat" into Amazon, and in addition to Saki and Ms. Gliori, I found this:

Publication Date: September 17, 2012 Tobermory is a cat - a Scottish Fold, to be precise - who recounts his experiences, observations and conclusions about the couple he has come to live with, and human beings in general.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009CXT9UI/?tag=absowrit-20
If there was any question (and at this point, how could their be) of Saki's influence in spreading the story of TC, check out the first lines of the book (courtesy of Amazon's look inside feature).

Phillip Moss said:
My name is Tobermory, but you may call me Toby. Or anything else you please. I am a cat. A Scottish-fold, to be precise. You can look that up, because I can't be bothered to explain it. Cats have short attention spans.

I was named after a cat in a story by Saki, whose real name was H.H. Munroe

The legal ground is with them.
The moral ground is with Mister Stewart, except for any alleged bullying.

Full circle for the Tobermory Cat
Hello Draco, I'm sorry but I must reply to this. This discussion has dealt with the technical aspects of the case and now the Tobermory Cat debate brings one of the most powerful words in the English language into play.
Because of the strength of the word Moral, a judgement should be made with the greatest care. Before you make a Moral judgement I would really appreciate some Moral questions.
How about a post that starts:
Hi Duncan, I see the technical side but on reading the posts I’m a bit concerned about - such and such - Could you explain this please?
I will answer honestly and fairly.
You see Draco, the problem here is that it was on the end of just such a one sided moral judgement that Debi's problems began and this thred was started. And you know the most depressing thing about all this, not one voice from the facebook page said "hey Angus, wait a minute, let's chat this through together" If they had?

Dude. You forgot to list the cat pictures. How can you POSSIBLY (under any circumstances, but most especially in this one) forget the cat pictures????? :D
I know, I know! I'm sorry! My cat already CHAsTised me by bringing in a poor little frog this very morning and looking at me in a meaningful way as he played with it. And now I'm feeling very uncomfortable by the way your avatar is looking at me! I will never ever forget the cat pictures again! I'm sorry!

*hides in the terrarium with the other poor frog*

Not sure what I find the most terrifying, my cat dragging innocent frogs into the house or the fact that he appears to read my posts on the internet when I'm asleep! The little terror, at least he looks adorable when asleep.

We had a cat used to bring us a frog or two every day. Sometimes you'd pick up a newspaper and find under it a dessicated frog. They look like old black banana skins.

There's only one true original big ginger tom, and it's my Stanley. All the rest of y'all owe me royalties.

Stanley makes for a weighty argument. Still, I think my kitty is even cuter, so nyah.

Stanley is on my lap, purring like a Routemaster bus, and mightily appreciating your approval; though I have an idea he's mostly interested in the Malabar Green Chicken curry I'm now enjoying and he only thinks he would.

Ok, I'm swayed.

"Could the Tobermory cat wear a dashing feathered hat?
Or would some lawyer or another put the kibosh on that?
Might he hang out with some friends, perhaps a thing or two,
Or stroll along the docks with the fishes red and blue?
If he paraded through the crowd in a dashing pair of boots
Would some ego injured party try to sue and sue AND SUE?

Or might more reasoned heads prevail and further hijinx ensue?"

Why yes, I did just rhyme sue with sue. :)

I can't believe no one has done this yet!

TOBERMORY

(To the tune of "Balamory")

What’s the story in Tobermory? Tell us about the troll!
What’s the story in Tobermory? Harassment is taking a toll!

He claims he owns that, the idea of a cat? That’s why he started to troll?

Tobermory!

Poor Debi’s just writing her story exciting, but over on Facebook the troll he is hiding!

What’s the story in Tobermory? Tell us about the troll!

There have always been cats in this sweet little town; but all cats the troll thinks he controls

Tobermory!

Now he’s calling libraries with comments quite scary? Would that be the story in Tobermory?

Whats the story in Tobermory? Harassment is taking a toll!

To tell you the truth, of his claims there’s no proof; Is that why he is now a troll?

Tobermory!

Wiki pages defiled by a spoiled little child? Is that the work of a troll?

So...

Whats the story in Tobermory? Tell us about the troll!
Whats the story in Tobermory? Harassment is taking a toll!
