Since when is a caret (^) used at the beginning of an accusatory sentence?

Since I discovered that, if I try to put a carat at the end of the previous (blank) line so that I could have two carats, one on top of the other at the end of my sentence, the bot prevents it and forces the carat to the start of the line?

Are you sure you're not just being paranoid about these so-called 'bots'?
