I had a query out with him for about two weeks. I know something was up (he's normally so quick). He did send a nice, try another agent a Curtis Brown message though.

I am so shocked. I did sort of wonder if he was getting burned out on agenting. He's had so many, "Put yourself in my shoes" posts these past few months.

I sent my query to Anna Webman before five days, and nothing yet.
Does anyone have experience with her, about response times?

Thank you!

Nathan Bransford is one of the kindest, classiest people in this business, in my opinion.

I know this thread is kind of old, but Nathan Bransford is awesome. I've had the pleasure of hearing him speak and meeting him in person.

P.S. I see the thread is not old after all, it's just the post I replied to was a little older. :D

Just saw in QueryTracker that Sarah LaPolla signed up another new client 11/17. Who's the lucky writer we can congratulate and envy? :D

Hey Krista, congrats on the partial request!

Sarah requested my partial after I entered a pitch contest back in Sept. It's been 6 weeks, which is what she's tweeting is her roundabout response time, so hopefully I'll hear something soon. Of course, if it's a rejection, then I'd rather bury my head in the sand and live in hope. ;)

Keep in mind, khidd, QueryTracker just logs offers, not necessarily acceptances. Whoever received that offer may be getting other offers, too, and might sign with someone else.

Jaime, thank you! And good luck to you, too :)

It was me!

Here are the stats:

Query (YA retelling): July 8
Request for Full: July 15
Revision Request: September 4
Resubmitted Revisions: October 1
Offer of Representation: November 17
Accepted representation: November 19

I did have more than one offer but the decision was easy. I'm so excited to be working with Sarah. I loved her revision suggestions during the R&R!

Congratulations, cuteshoes! From all of my interactions with her (which, admittedly, haven't been a ton), she seems fabulous. Best of luck going out on submission!

Thanks for the congrats!

I've been trying to draft a blog post today but I have a major deadline at work so I haven't gotten very far on it. I will probably post details on Monday and just write an announcement today to give myself time to write it properly! I'll link here when it's up.

Jaime, thank you! And good luck to you, too :)

Unfortunately the R came yesterday, but she had some very nice things to say about my concept. The sequel of my novel is more geared toward the audience she was hoping for, so when I asked if she'd be interested in seeing that one day (given I can turn it into a stand alone novel), she said yes. :) So all is not lost :)

But of course I'll query my little heart out for this first novel! It's still a great result considering Sarah requested my partial as a result of a pitch contest I entered. Hopefully it will attract other agents' attentions, too. :D

Sorry about the rejection, Jaime. Sounds like you've got the right attitude, though. And it's awesome to get a request to see future work. Best of luck.
