How did I do it?

Wrote the story (actually it has grown into a series of stories about the same town, spanning 40 years.)
Bribed friends (with English degrees) to critique. In this case, pizza and beer is your friend!
Joined this site and read, read, read...
Opened a KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) account. Downloaded their guidelines.
Reformatted the short story for Kindle.
Found a guy with a gorgeous cover at a good price (www.goonwrite.com)
Uploaded everything to KDP.
Posted on Facebook.
