Wow, as a newbie to this forum I'm really in awe of how prolific many of you are. I was feeling pretty pleased with my 2 novels in a year (one of which has been published) till I came here!

This question has probably been asked before but I was just wondering how possible it is to actually earn a living from writing.

It's accepted wisdom that only the very lucky few can actually support themselves but is this still true today, or has epublishing allowed more people to give up their day jobs?

JustJas,

I write f/t. However, it's not the norm. You have to write a whole lot of what's hot to do well, and even that's not a guarantee.

That's one of the huge attractions of writing for Harlequin/Mills and Boon. Because of the way that their books are sold and the kind of contracts they offer, their authors can have a much more reliable and livable salary than many single title authors.

Thanks! One of my Rebel releases is out in April also - maybe we'll be release day buddies or whatever it might be called.

Cool...yes, maybe we will be. :D

You have so many published thus far, I'm jealous. ;) Good for you. Love your new cover in your avatar. I submitted my cover art info to Rebel this week. I know it takes a little bit of time before I see a cover, but I am wondering approximately how long? I'm so anxious to see mine. The waiting is going to kill me...lol

Just got the email: Legacy, my unexpected sequel to Belonging, has just been accepted by Siren. We're looking at a February 2012 publication date with print in June.

Oh lordy, I have to do edits on an 86K-word book. Better stock up on the caffeine.

Stacey - hi, release buddy!
