Word count for middle grade

Actually shorter tends to be fine for MG, and I think you could be okay with that word count. But double check you haven't accidentally written a Chapter Book instead. That's a slightly younger age bracket and a slightly easier read for I'd say 6 - 8 yearolds. What's your plot? Do you have any subplots? What's the tone of the writing? Maybe when you hit 50 posts you can post a chapter in the Share Your Work section here.

If an agent falls in love with your ms they'll either take it as is, or suggest revisions, so try not to get too hung up on figures and instead just write the best story you can
