I have probably invented this, now I'm not sure how it sounds:
- In one y. 2012 study they found an association between...
- According to one y. 2013 systematic review by World Health Organization...
I was thinking to use dates like this in the sentences in my research articles published online. On the end of the sentences I have numbers that refer down to the list of references with links to actual studies. I do not need (and want) to use the exact academic rules about referring texts, etc., since my articles are not academic papers.
I know I could write In one study from y. 2012 or from y.2013, now, I was thinking my style could be more fluent.
