A new bi-monthly, online literary journal is looking for submissions in the following categories: fiction, nonfiction (narrative journalism, essay, memoir, book reviews), photography, photo essay, comics, short-short film.
Submission Guidelines: Reading Period: July 5-August 15, 2012 Fiction 200-2,000 words Photos 1-2 Photo Essay 300-1,000 words, 2-6 photos Nonfiction 300-2,000 words Illustration -- varies Comics ˝-1/page Videos 1-5 minutes Please do not send - genre fiction. This doesn't mean fiction submissions can't have cowboys, vampires, detectives, aliens, Fabio, etc. as characters, but they shouldn't be formulaic, cliched and/or unoriginal. First, second, third ... 100th drafts. Finished work only. Poetry Political rants Entertainment/pop culture news Music or visual arts reviews No pay will be offered, but premiere issue will be heavily promoted. E-MAIL FORMAT Include your name, the best way to reach you if necessary, your location, a small photo or illustration of yourself, and a short autobiographical note, written in the third person 50-100 words long. Fiction and nonfiction submissions - NO ATTACHMENTS PLEASE. PASTE YOUR ENTIRE SUBMISSION INTO AN E-MAIL. Indicate whether the story is fiction or nonfiction. What not to send
Genre fiction* *This doesn’t mean your story can’t have cowboys, vampires, detectives, aliens, Fabio, etc. as characters, but they should be “literary.” They shouldn’t be formulaic, cliched and/or unoriginal.
