I have a question about being a part of local government, and whether I can use that to bring about actual change such as getting my @#$% street plowed earlier than 4 PM. Considering I pay some of the highest local taxes of any of the communities around here, I'm not seeing a lot for my tax dollars lately.

:Soapbox:

Before 4 p.m. on the day the snow fell?

I bet you're electric *ducks to avoid thrown Smibbles for bad joke*

Electrifying.

But I'm always that.

:D

Or was that polarizing? Might have been that one instead.....

Speaking of appliances, my rice cooker should be about ready to pop, which means I need to fix up the rest of my sweet and sour pork.

Yes.

But it'd been falling all night (and all day before that, though they plowed yesterday), and near as I can tell that late afternoon swipe was their first pass along the road. There should not be three feet of snow in the middle of the road, especially when the snowstorm stopped around noon.

That's probably nothing compared to the wilds of Alaska, huh.

Nothing compared to the "we'll get to it when we get to it" attitude of municipal and government workers, more like.

And you have to be on my side, Ace, because of the sausage chubb.

I'm sorry. The party bus just seems like the place to be. Of course, I'd prefer coffee to alchohol and to be on it by myself....

what?

don't judge...

A tiny bus full of overcaffeinated people? Maybe I'd rather take the first kind. :)

If I owned my own dogsled, I'm sure I'd be as nonchalant about it as you are.

:wag:

I wasn't refering to your lack of dogsled, Mr. FancyPants.

:)

Oh--and Jericho wants to use references to sausage chubbs. You okay with that?

The more people talk about chubbs, the happier I am. That didn't come out right...

Wouldn't that just be a Starbucks with the doors locked and attached wheels?

Is that the Fifth Horseman (or wagon) or the Apoxyclips?

Swearing can be a drug.

This is me. Although I'm working on cleaning up my language, especially since Little K is in the copy-everything-mommy-says mode. I'm just waiting for him to stand up in church and drop an F-bomb. Part of me would be totally horrified but the other half would be laughing my head off.

And speaking of Little Kricket, I just did a massive overhaul in his room. Who'd a thunk there was actually carpet in there? ;)

just realized I need a new avi. Go GoogleFoo!

Oh, earlier:

Me: can I pay off my remaining loan online?

Loan phone jockey: yes.

...

Me: uh, how much is it?

Lpj: let me calculate the 10 day window

Me: no, tomorrow is fine. Or I guess the next day since there's a delay when I post it online...

Lpj: okay, I'll calculate it for the fourth and that will be acceptable... *gives figure*

Me: okay, *types in figure and reads it back*, got it. Thank you.

Lpj: now, if you have never logged onto our website...

Me: uh, yeah I have. I'm there now. (duh)

Lpj: okay, have a nice day.

Me: you too. *hangs up, hits submit, gets error about not being able to submit more than the website thinks you owe*. ARGH! that was my first damn question you cursed Stupid loan jockey!!! What is wrong with you???

*eyes the fountain* How many licks of a chocolate fountain does it take to save a craptastic day, Mr. Owl? 1, 2, 3....

2,354. But only because your brain will enter a higher plain of jittery existence.

Thanks. I didn't draw it, a good friend of mine did. It just took me a while to find it on my computer and then cut my head out of the picture.

Kewlies.
