Yes, and I agree whole-heartedly - that's a terrifically important thing for a writer to learn.

I guess I'm thinking that a writer young enough to bring in Mum's opinion as unarguable evidence for being special is probably still young enough to learn from a second chance. Deserved or not.


ETA: Meaning no disrespect to the Mum. I remember thinking my first infant was probably the most beautiful babe of woman born. A belief that I clung to - despite all the photographs. *sigh*

My understanding is that Mac doesn't like duplicate accounts. But I've certainly seen more than one person come here and have stupid fall out of their mouth, then undergo an attitude readjustment, and go on to be a happy and productive member of AW. Folks here are very understanding and forgiving. In general, we've seen it before or been there ourselves (or both). And there's always a new train wreck to make us forget the old one.
