Re LASIK: I got it when I was 41. I was told that eventually I'd need reading glasses. My eyes were terrible--my glasses looked like Coke bottles. Plus wearing them hurt, and wearing contact lenses hurt, and I was tired of my eyes hurting all the time.
I saw perfectly for about 8 years, and then went to magnification 1.00 readers. Now I switch between 1.00 and 1.25, depending.
Mr Lily, who had LASIK when he was 50, was told that he might need reading glasses right away, because of his eyes' age. He didn't for about 6 years.
He's close to the point of possibly getting a tweak to his eyes, which they also said might be an option down the road.
We still love it.
