I didn't make the 50k. I spent most of the month ill - I'm chronically ill already, so that really means more ill than usual. I just didn't have the brain power to write. While I'm a little disappointed, I'm only a little disappointed. This is to be expected when one is already chronically ill. The last time I attempted NaNo was 2009 and I got double pneumonia a few days in. That didn't work so well, either.
I'm planning to continue in December because, well, writing.
Final count for 2014: 80,399 (couldn't find a way to squeeze in another work to make it an even 80,400). This is my highest NaNo score since I first started and it's 11 wins for 11 tries.
I got to The End on Saturday, at 77,133 - which just beats out my 2007 figure of exactly 77k, to be my second highest NaNo total ever. Then yesterday I slept.
Congratulations Sunflower, Ben, Marian, Becky, and Sam, and everyone else who completed this challenge! I'm applauding and tossing roses onto the ice rink. Way to go!
For me, my final word count is 21,779. That's far from victory, but it's a quarter of a book I didn't have last month. Cheers everybody.
