note - I'm calling this a "collage" of poems rather than a long poem with parts.

A collage would have unifying elements that make it seem whole, yet each poem different. They are all short poems and easy to read.

..........I

In the aged
dust-toned shadows
of the room

the
stairs
creak
with flights
of fancy

this house
of my space -

is my place
to dream

..........II

Light intercepts
the dark graze
of shadows

provokes
panicked footsteps
in the hurry of the mice

the wall-writing moons
leave silver penumbras
on the dusty windows

borrowing colors
from beyond

from the wild woods
where the light falls

the stars pulse
around the room

..........III

Roof
with a warm slant of moon

lies down in the dark
un-peopled silence

where the cat
pats across unseen
on the yellow green

..........IV

To break
the hymen of darkness

a warm glowing
lissome of light
softens the night around
my crumpled sheets
and feather-down pillow

a window
in the midst of stars
watches moons beyond
the silver cumulus

and looks with me
beyond the chill

a virginal sun waiting
beyond the green shutters

its sleep of time waking
with the morning doves

..........V

pale
as the glow
of the radio

moonlight
slips
among tunes

steals
songs
from the magic
of morning music

..........VI

Sometimes
one can hear
the old shifting
of sewing machines

the put-put-put
of antique washers

one can see
a mended wall
rusty cans
a broken doll

and one remembers
childhood friends
whose voices echo
down the hall

..........VII

Misty stones
long dead bones
the resting place
of my beloved friends

while somewhere
in the corner of a room
a picture lies
yellow edges speckled by the flies

in time
no on can tell
if once it held
a sad and lonely smile

or if perchance
for reasons of the heart
the eyes contained a mystery
worlds apart

..........VIII

Red letters leap
from back shelf

laced cobwebs cover
the shutter stop

I recall a flash
of forgotten memory -

her green eyes watching
from the brownie camera

..........IX

House
half realized
in the stillness

where scrim of limbs
thin leaves
in the solitude senses
the menace
of total darkness -

extinction of sky

penumbra
shorn of pity

turns its back
on baffled visions

eerie ghost lines
in the sameness

..........X

Blinking its eyes shut
over the room

a sleepy rose
wraps the moon
in leaves

folds it under
the round end
of the air

as night curtains
the sweet peel
of dusk

my voice
sowing the shadows
with song

I am at peace with music
and some
remembered-thing

from another time

..........END

Steppe this is perfectly wonderful. I read the first five shortly after you first posted those and now your completion of five more -- so rich. And thank you for introducing the collage poem to us, or to me at any rate; I'd never heard that term.

This collage poem leaves me with a sensation of deep peace. It's very satisfying, and there are some delightful turns of phrase and image tucked within it, quite smoothly so.

Thank you very much for this.

Kylabelle - Thank you so very much. I'm sure it's not new. Probably put together many times just not called such.

You are so talented at setting a scene. I have a lot to say about this, but have to come back to it
It's wonderful, Steppe. Truly enjoyed this.

Some very nice images here, Steppe, as always. As a collage, they give me the feel of tiptoeing around your house and neighborhood over a span of time, if that makes any sense.

You've walked me through what seems like an experience in and of itself. And how lovely the walk~
