Cheering you all on!
My laptop charger had issues a few laptops ago, Lisa. It wouldn't add charge to the battery, but it would keep the battery at an equal level of charge.

The charger was covered for free replacement.

That's awesome, Sage! Interesting about the dues; that's a new one for me. I've never heard of female barbershop choir either (always heard four men- sometimes five in more of a doo-wop style). I love acapella though. In fact, one of the few singing shows I watch is The Sing-Off, purely because it's acapella. Good luck finding a choir that fits you! My advice is not to stick around unless you feel 100% comfortable with it. I let myself be guilted into the choir and hated it, but then felt guilty leaving. I don't feel guilty continuing to say no when they ask me to rejoin though!

I bent the bit of the charger that goes in the laptop. I got it through DSA (funding for disabled students), so I'm going to contact the people who supplied it to me.

I love The Sing-Off, and I'll hulu some eps sometimes during work. Yeah, doo-wop is barbershop, for sure.

I think dues aren't totally uncommon for choirs. The one I quit had a fee (I got it back) and I've seen several online mention a fee. The big problem with joining this one and then maybe deciding later that it's not the one for me is that there's a monthly fee (no problem) and then a yearly fee to the International Sweet Adelines which is kinda high (but in future years, the choir pays for it using your monthly fees). Anyway, that would be a big loss if I chose to do the Columbus Women's Choir instead.

This choir seems like a fun group and I would probably have more fun doing that music. CWC is probably a better fit for my voice, though, and they're a pretty big deal. It's sad that real life isn't like college where you can be in concert choir, gospel choir, and show choir all at the same time.

Sage - good luck choosing a choir! I'm so impressed by people who can sing (let's just say I did middle school choir and then was kicked out by 9th grade  bc I couldn't actually sing).

My favorite new singing show on TV is Duets. I also love the Sing-Off too:D I never got into American Idol or anything like that...but my friends in HS looooved it.

I loved AI the first year, and then I watched it off and on for a few seasons after that, mostly for background noise. I was just about to say "no more" when Adam Lambert was on it, so I had to watch that season (which was actually the best season, IMO, since the first one, but then I was probably biased). I've never seen Duets. I liked the Voice which was the last show we followed before we dumped cable.

It's official - I probably shouldn't watch Law & Order SVU....I get so freaked out by the cases. This episode is about a mom who killed her kids the night before child protective services came that morning. *shudder*

I feel so scared by this episode. So creepy. The last episode was about a girl who was sold to sex pornographer.
*shudder*

I love SVU, but I'm morbid like that.

And good for you for getting out and doing the public singing thing, Sage! I sing and play guitar, but the closest I've come to doing so publicly is torturing my facebook friends/family with the occasional recording, lol.

Oh, and I officially hate coding for IE. I wish people would just get a real browser, already!

I love Law and Order. It's been a while since I've seen it though.

I just woke up from passing out on the couch...I hate jet lag! But the early mornings are good for my writing :)

Blah jet lag - where did you come from?
I'm getting to experience the jet lag in August :snoopy: Yay traveling! The worst I had was coming home from Australia ... I'd go to sleep when the birds were coming out to sing

Almost done reading the Maze Runner. I freaking LOVE this book. But, now I"m going to go watch one of the 20 horror flicks I downloaded to my cue on Netflix today :D Well, actually I have to wait until the kids are asleep (which they should be soon, hopefully), then I'm making myself some popcorn and I got my rainbow twizzlers and I'm good to go ;)

I was coming from Kuwait. It's about a 7 hour time difference to here. Not the worst, but not the easiest either.

So...what kinds of static info type pages does my blog site need? I'm slowly approaching the end of the design stage. I even found some awesome pre-made social networking buttons to put in my sidebar! How's it looking to you guys?

http://www.ashleyheckman.com

Looks good to me, though I'm not sure I love the drop down menus. I feel like it's an extra step for people to take and people can be really lazy. Might just be me though. I need to be in and out quickly when I"m reading through blogs and unless something catches my eye (usually buttons at the top do this for me), I won't bother checking things out. Like I said, it's probably just me. Otherwise it looks pretty darn good.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about them, either, but I figured that they will come in handy once the tag cloud gets going and I have a big list of categories (and someday a bit list of monthly archives), since that sidebar area doesn't expand with content.

And thanks for checking it out! What browser do you use, and did anything look out of place? I've tested in Opera and IE. Need to check it on oPad/mobile Safari when I get a chance.

You know what should be a horror movie? Wedding planning...so much terror!

OMG yes. That was one of the most stressful things I've ever done!

I use Safari and your blog looked pretty good to me. I am interested to see your blog when it is finished/you are posting! :D

And while I can't make a judgement about wedding planning (single lady here {hums Beyonce}), I figure it's a horror just from Bridezillas
