Let us say you find yourself on a foreign planet or in a distant time with unfamiliar cuisine and no Androgum handy to take charge of the kitchen.

What do you do?

I find that a small handheld laser is indispensable for singeing feathers off of theropods. Even a Tyrannosaurus rex is made short work of, and the feathers are sufficient in number for bedding if one does not mind the smell.

What are others' tips and recipes for less than ideal alien conditions?

A dark, evil place.
I always make sure to pack along several varieties of gagh whenever I travel.

AW. A very nice place!
lol :-D

One good tip is that if you are on the Red Planet water abounds.
It's in the soil, dry though it appears. By one means and another it can be extracted.

Then too many heavenly spheres have polar icecaps. Another good source for water.

As for food that's another matter.

This question has bothered me for a long time.

I mean, you go someplace alien, how do you know the plants aren't poisonous? And what about the other side-effects?

You would need to have a lot of very good technology just to study everything.

And then how to cook? And what if you eat a smart critter? Sure, it might look like a rat, but it speaks more languages than you. And you just ate him in front of his family. So much for peace!
