Book formatting for Amazon, etc.

It's really not that difficult to do it yourself.

I used (and love) Book Design Templates Only for the print version though. The ebook version didn't pass the Smashwords Meatgrinder, so I had to go in and fix it.

To format an ebook, just download the free guide at Smashwords. It's really helpful.

I used Guido Henkel's Guide (which is EXCELLENT) to do it myself. I was already proficient in HTML and CSS, though.

Interesting. I need to take an in-depth look at that when I get the chance. Thanks for sharing.

I haven't used 52 Novels, but I've read ebooks they've formatted. They do superior work. They also charge a premium fee last I checked.

You can get very good work significantly cheaper if you look around.

I don't have any recommendations because I do it myself based on Guido Henkel's guide.

I'm glad you shared this link! I've bookmarked it and will look it over again in more detail when the time comes.

It'a always amazing to me when people offer such detailed information for free. But I saw he is also available for hire, for those who maybe don't have the time to follow the steps he's illustrated. I hope it's brought him much business, because he's done something very helpful but mapping out the process of formatting ebooks!

I'm happy you posted that, thanks! Especially the last link, the KDP forum. It seems like an obvious place to look for info, yet one that hadn't ever occurred to me. Lots of good info on there!
