Well, just drinking for now. As soon as water wasn't agonizing I made jello, so in a few hours we'll find out whether that's too painful to swallow and if not, I might attempt small amounts of real food. :) It's very trial-and-error atm.

Ah yes, and you know the antidote to slow coffee makers is to brew it the old-fashioned way xD Boiling pot o' water, pan of roasted coffee beans and a mortar and pestle :D.

Hope the jello works out for you.

The antidote may actually be faster sadly. The water line has something in it.

On the second day of Mistletoemas, I gave my love so sweet...

...two hands to hold her,
...and a kiss beneath the mistletoe.

Well, in case the Reapers arrive tomorrow, I'd like you guys to know just how awesome I think you all are. =^_^=

Hmm. At least two of those actually, as well as self employed.

:e2tongue:

Have given up on Star Trek - Kirk meets Spock, and have gone on to The Incredibles.

As much as I like The Incredibles (and it is a helluva achievement to get human characters in CGI not to look too plastic) the story still reeks of Fantastic Four fanfic. Not that the three official FF movies have been much above that standard either...

Guys... what's a decent length for a fantasy novel? Because I need to figure out if the voice in the back of my head that constantly calls issue with my ideas for not being long enough has a point or if I can safely tell him to shut up.

See? That's what you get! What's a nice Southern girl like you doing so far north?

Blame my husband and his well paying job. But I'll be home in the South for Christmas. :)

This question has been asked a few times with in the forums. You can use the search tool to find them. But the short answer is, just write the story. You can add or take away as needed later on.

I've never read the FF fanfic. I bet it doesn't have Edna Mole though - she is brilliant!

Depends. I'd say 75 K would be fine, albeit on the shorter side. But you could also go freaking long, too.

It's all about how long it takes to tell the story.

Tell the voice to shut up, because it might be wrong. I had a short story idea that I was sure would run about 30 pages. It ended up being 88K. Once I started writing, it became apparent that the original idea was only a very basic outline...
