I have scoured Meetup help and just cannot find the answer.

If I want to stop new people from being able to join my Meetup group, how do I do that? I cannot find that setting anywhere!

I may be wrong, but they may have removed that option (there used to be one). It's been a while since I've been involved with a MU group.

Sigh. If so I guess I will just have to post in the information that we are closed. I hate having people waste the time of applying when we are at capacity.

Official response: "While I understand your concern, I’m afraid there’s currently no way to completely close your Meetup Group to new members. Sorry for any inconvenience!"

Damned annoying that they used allow this and have now decided we shouldn't be able to have that level of control over our own groups.

Another example of changing something until it's irritating.

I hate my car radio. It has a little monitor display and what seems to be 100 buttons. I just want to listen to the radio and maybe play a CD. I don't want to go to the moon in the thing.

Allowing groups to close might stop someone from signing up.

Can't have that. It's for your own good.
