I remember last year's Last Line of the Day thread being one of the things that got me through last year's Nano, so I thought I'd start one for this year!

Today's last line was kinda lame, but whatevs.

There was no question about it. She was supposed to eliminate the man sitting next to her.

Oooh, I like it! Lots of implicit tension!

Here's mine, translated from the original Spanish:

It was fear that was making them try to get so artificially close to a God, any God that would listen to them.

He wasn't drunk enough to be imagining things.

Eh, it's the end of a slow scene. Plus nice lines, everybody!

Thanks Tiff,” I said. I could almost cry. It was so nice to have someone believe me.

You guys have some great lines! You haven't been... editing... have you? ;)

Here's the last few lines I wrote tonight:

He pats my head. “You should keep an open mind about these things. Sometimes you have to believe before you can see.”
“And what if I told you that I’m actually your ex-girlfriend,” I blurt out.
“Eww, Charlene. Too weird of a comparison.”

(Yeah...they're cousins.)

I'm just about to get into today's session, but here's my last from yesterday:

"The only thing left from the entire ordeal was the Amaratus which Korsen still clutched in his trembling hand."

Yesterday's (Because I haven't started today's yet):

“Tried sticking my head in… well, my head. Just went right through it.”

For some reason I imagined the narrator as a baby. You know, while it was being born.

...aaaaand I've grossed myself out.

I popped in here because, you know, it's Putster.

:Hug2:

Very interesting to read the different lines. Even with such a limited sample you get a sense of voice, characters, story.

I'm still not officially calling this a NaNo thing but. . .
I had that disorder, couldn’t stop it, I had it like I have brown hair. Part of who I am.

Mine from yesterday (it probably won't make it through the eventual revisions, but whatever; it's there now):

"Wherever you're hiding, William, I hope you have the sense to stay there."

:Wha: is the most apt response to this.

Nah, the speaker's a ghost who was trying to see if she could reattach to her body.

Right, because that is a lot less weird. :D

I is being mean to my MC again...

“Liked cleaning up other people’s shit, do you?”
Lia forced herself to breathe out slowly. She would kill her. She would take that stupid, doughy face of hers and smash it into the wall until it no longer talked. She would kill her one day. But that day was not today. She stretched her lips into a smile and met Purie's eye. “Yes, I enjoy cleaning up other people's shit.”

This is fun!

“I think she’s out there, you guys,” I said when I’d finally pulled myself together. “But something really doesn’t want me talking to her.”

I'm going to participate in this thread, seems fun. I'll post my last line of the evening later. For now, yesterday's last line;

"That uncertainty carried over into the rest of my decisions like a nosy bitch that lives next door."

Ooo, all these lines are really intriguing. Here's mine:

"It was a good spell – transforming your spotty, half-grown self into a fleshy matron with a whore's mouth. Was what you got worth what you had to do for it?"

Here is yesterday's (again, translated from Spanish):

Let us close our eyes and pray together so that these terrible rumours will cease to poison our community, so that they can never sow nightmares among us again.

Apparantly I've been sleep writing. I found this on my notepad when I woke up, my last scribble of the day:

“So? Darlin’, you’ve grown just about as much as you’re gonna grow, from tits to toes. You’re off the assembly line now, and it’s all downhill from here.” She shoots me a wink. “Enjoy it. Get nasty while you can.”

Within a few months a half-robot would be in charge of nearly the entire humanity. That didn't sound as good as Isadora's parents made it look like.

Yeah. Now we're talkin' about sci fi.

From this morning:

"All of them stood there motionless, like statues. All but the one that drove his heavy, stone fist into Korsen’s gut, then again into the side of his head."
