Cheering you all on!
It's October, and NaNo is just around the corner. The forum should reboot in the next week (they think...they're a little behind this year). Do you know what you're writing? How are you preparing?

I'm going to try writing my very first MG novel! And I'm really excited. I've got a basic plot outlined already. Whether or not I get to flesh it out more, which I'd like to, depends on if I finish my current WIP in time.

I have a vague idea of a plot and a setting, but still need to write the outline. I want to write a horror novel this year, but it might end up being a thriller.

Probably the library.
I actually just got home from my region's plot-planning party. :D

I still don't know what I'm doing. :tongue But I finally got to meet everybody! :)

Nope, not ready. I probably should start thinking about it - so far I've made it to "I don't think I can write 50k because of work and RSI, but I'm giving it a shot anyway," and that's about all.

Hiding in this box I made.
I'm excited. I should be working on my many WIPs, but have a plot that just won't get out of my head.

It's adult psychological horror, basically.

Not ready yet. Still need to plot this years project, a YA Horror story. Doing a scene by scene thing to keep things easy to write during NaNo. Would need to do it anyway, because the story isn duel pov.

Oh my....the pressure is on. I'll either start with something at the strike of 12 with something I have no idea what (like last year and I'm not kidding as I just started writing with no plan whatsoever - premium pantster approach) or I'll be a REBEL and work on this stack of WIP'S which are hanging around asking for completion.

I currently have some characters and a good start on the world-building, but I don't have much of a plot, which is disturbing to me. I have a lot of traveling in October, which means potential plotting time while driving, but I'm also going to be working on revisions of another novel that I put off working on until now but want to work on now, lol.

I'm not quite ready. I have an idea for a sci-fi/fantasy, but I'm also tempted to try writing another middle grade book. (Or just turn the first idea into a middle grade book.)

I'm sure I'll figure something out by midnight November 1st. :D

I'm preparing in my usual way, by NOT preparing :D

What I am doing is preparing to run another writer's workshop/program at my library at that time (I did in July, too, with very happen participants).

I'm also finishing up a short story which has some amount of overlap with my planned novel.

It is also entirely possible that I hit November and write the 2nd book in my superhero trilogy that I've been threatening to write for at least 2 NaNos now and all of this year.

I enjoyed the Nano last year, but I got nuffin' for it this year. Too busy trying to get my current WIP finished to write something else. But I'll be cheering for everyone else!

I think ready is an understatement...I'm a bit too excited. :D I wrote a very vague outline last month, and am spending the rest of the time from now until November fleshing it out/researching/drawing inspiration. I actually came up with the idea this summer, though I didn't know at the time that it would be my nano novel.

I think I'm going to do NaNoWriMo for the first time ever. I was roughly planning it back in the summer but have sort of forgotten the details now. Will need to dig up my notes, and hopefully make an outline and more character notes sometime this month...

Going to NaNo rebel this year. Coming into November with a (still mostly new) project. Goal is to hit 25k before November 1st and get up to 50k total by November 30th. ^_^ I'm around 17k now, for whatever that's worth.

I am not ready, but undecided. Reason says, I should try to finish editing one of my WIPs, not write another first draft. But there are several ideas who beg to be turned into a novel ... and I long for the feeling of just writing.
So, actually I try to find sort of a plot for one of these ideas, still doubting about what I am doing - and much handicapped by a not two months old kitty, who continuously has her little paws on my keyboard.

I'm also outlining this year. Pantsing last year was fun and the most I'd ever written at one time, but this year I actually want to produce something usable. I'm actually waiting for Scrivener to update so I can start transferring my character profiles from paper to screen, but I'm still trying to figure out the plot.

I'm actually feeling fairly (dare I say it) confident this year. I've done NaNo in the past but given up within a few days as I tried to wing it and I didn't have time. This year I have a plan and I'm working on a WIP I feel flows really well and have been thinking about it for a little while.

I think it's definitely doable for me this year ::)

I'm thinking seriously about doing the NaNo rebel this year - a series of flash fiction/short stories. I haven't done NaNo in a few years, so maybe this is a good way to get back into it.

I have zero story ideas. Zero. I think I'll find a writing prompt generator and do one a day. Or something like that. :)
