Srsly!

krampus7.jpg

This is like the 4th "devil" image I've seen these past few days. While It's only my opinion, I kinda find them a tad bit disturbing. :e2cry: Now I do realize that part of the Christmas story includes the idea of being rescued from the clutches of Satan, but all I can say is "Shees!" These images just don't put me into the Christmas spirit!

Is there a backstory here?

And was anyone on the ModSquad and techy-administrator team taking bets as to who would be the first poster to ask about it? (Do I get a prize??)

It's an interesting reminder how myths evolve and the 'The Good Old Days of Yore' might have been the biggest myth of all.

Satan is an anagram of Santa fact fans. Well that's what I tell anyone who's expecting a present off me.

Krampus rocks, folks. I intend to use him to scare my children when I have them.

I don't know how I'd never heard of this, I adore all things folklore...

I have to say, I am in love. *giggle*

When the dark edges of things hold real menace, the warmth and light are all the sweeter. That's maybe especially true in the heart of Winter.

Well you see, I think Krampus is the AW mascot at this time of year.

I haven't had very good luck finding creepy Hanukkah pictures. But I'm always happy to hear suggestions...

Thank you for the Hanukkah nod! Much appreciated! :)

Here's about as creepy as it gets, I think:

Different kind of creepy, though.

Add blocker - it works for header images and avatars you don't want to look at. (Don't smack me, Mac, I don't use it to actually block your clicky ads at the top, just the pictures I don't like.)

I've been blocking all the Krampuses (Krampii?) because they creep me out - and not in a good way. We don't usually get so many of the same sort of image back-to-back during the hols.

(Don't feel bad PD, I've had to stop myself a few times over the last couple of days from creating this thread myself.)

If you use Firefox, you can Google "Ad Blocker". It's an add on that lets you right click on any image you don't want to see and it will give you the option of blocking just the one image or all images on the site.

Once you select the image, it disappears from your screen.
